By using Unofficial Pix Backpack ("the App"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

The App

Unofficial Pix Backpack is an independently developed app for controlling the Pix LED Backpack via Bluetooth Low Energy. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Pix Inc. or any original manufacturer of the Pix Backpack hardware.

License

The App is licensed, not sold, to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices that you own or control, subject to these Terms and the applicable platform terms (Apple Media Services Terms, Google Play Terms of Service). You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the App.

Subscriptions & Purchases

The App offers optional in-app purchases to unlock additional features:

• Monthly Subscription: Provides access to Pro features for the duration of the billing period. The subscription automatically renews each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (iOS) or before the end of the current period (Android).
• Free Trial: When available, a free trial provides full Pro access for the specified trial period. At the end of the trial, the subscription automatically converts to a paid monthly subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Upon cancellation, you will lose access to Pro features at the end of the trial period.
• Lifetime Purchase: A one-time, non-recurring payment that unlocks Pro features permanently. No renewal or cancellation is needed.

All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Prices are displayed in your local currency before purchase. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your device's subscription settings (iOS: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; Android: Google Play > Subscriptions).

Features, pricing, and the availability of free and paid features may change at any time.

Features

The App offers both free and paid features. The specific features included in free and Pro tiers are described within the App and may change at any time without notice.

Your Content

All pixel art, animations, scrolling texts, and custom fonts you create are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your content. You retain full ownership of everything you create.

Bluetooth & Hardware

The App communicates with Pix Backpack hardware via Bluetooth Low Energy. We are not responsible for hardware malfunctions, compatibility issues, or damage to the backpack. Use is at your own risk.

External Services

Certain optional features connect to external services to retrieve data. These include services for music recognition (provided by AudD, the distributor of this App), public transit data, flight information, prediction market data, and random number generation. These services are operated independently and have their own terms. We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of any external service.

No Warranty

You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of the App is at your sole risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App and any services performed or provided by the App are provided "as is" and "as available," with all faults and without warranty of any kind, and the developer hereby disclaims all warranties and conditions with respect to the App and any services, either express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to the implied warranties and/or conditions of merchantability, of satisfactory quality, of fitness for a particular purpose, of accuracy, of quiet enjoyment, and of non-infringement of third-party rights.

No oral or written information or advice given by the developer shall create a warranty. Should the App or services prove defective, you assume the entire cost of all necessary servicing, repair, or correction.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent not prohibited by law, in no event shall the developer be liable for personal injury or any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever, including without limitation damages for loss of profits, corruption or loss of data, failure to transmit or receive any data, business interruption, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App, however caused, regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall the developer's total liability to you for all damages (other than as may be required by applicable law in cases involving personal injury) exceed the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00).

Termination

This license is effective until terminated by you or the developer. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
